Prayer Shawls

I finally went to JoAnn's today for a Prayer Shawl book, volume 1. I can't remember what I did with the first one I had. I told my mother I would make two for Christmas to give to nursing home patients. Can't wait to get started. Three months away so I have to get to work. I also got materials for my sewing bag I'm making for class. I still haven't finish that sock, but will definiately finish by this weekend. I have about four inches to go before the toes.

Thanks CiCi, I will be calling on you sooner than you think!

Got an early call tomorrow so until then............

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I'm so thankful, I could spend all day listing, but I have to get ready for dinner this evening, which involves preparation. But this Thanksgiving, addition to my family, I am very thankful to my extended family Frank and Valerie. We've been friends for ions and I'm visiting them this Thanksgiving. Staying wit them is like staying at a 5 Star hotel. I think I'll call it Jackson Inn. I'm always welcome and receive the upmost hospitality. I could go on and on, but Val's cooking something in the kitchen.

Any how thanks family and extended family!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!! http://www.mamarocks.com/happy_thanksgiving.htm

New Beginnnings Again

Here I go again.

I've been facinated with FB and gotten into sewing again. The trick is to carefully intertwine knitting with the sewing. And in addition, I've picked up some organizational skills. I still have a long way to go, for those who know me. I still have thing jumbled up and pushed in a corner. When I'm ready, I pull out what I need. Unfortunately, that means multiples supplies.

I'm starting my new year now. meaning, here are my resolutions, and I say this every year. Organization is the key. I also want to use up my stash (fabric and yarn). I'm determined about this. Doing this will teach me the skills I need to do to excell. I have enough books and instruction to help me. I still need to network with those who can teach me new skills.

Also this blog is very important in documenting my progress.

Right now, I'm working on a pair of socks (first full pair). I have had anxiety over making these socks. I think the ribbing is to long so I'm going to make the body longer. Boy, wait til I get to the heel flap and heel section. I have to get it.

I also have to get my camera working. When I went on a field trip to New York, a couple of weeks ago, I discovered, to my horror, my camara was not functioning. I think it's the memory card. I have to try to work on it.

Well until next time.

Fancy Foot Work!

I've just come back from Hillandale Meetup Knit Group and as usual I had a phenomenal and productive time. We meet every Monday and a lot of us come right after work, tired and worn out from the day's events, but somehow we get re energized.

I'm still working on my first sock and I will have a picture of it soon. Again, I like to thank my two friends in Hillandale for the instruction, support, and just plain cheer leading for getting me this far. I am now shaping the toe and will be soon finish. Then I can start the other. I think I can get this done a little quicker. I ready to be finish because I want to start more sock art. Yeah, that sounds like a good name. SOCK ART. Hmmmm!!!

Well, anyhow I'm going to work a little more on my toe shaping before turning in. Thanks to my followers!!!

Turn of the Heal.

I am almost finish my sock. It is taken longer than expected, but it looks good. In my last Meetup group in Hillandale, I got great instruction on turning the heal. As soon as I learn how to pick up the stitiches and finish, I will be cranking socks out right and left. My Meetup group in White Flint will be meeting tomorrow. Everyone get ready I will be making socks and giving them out as gifts in the future. As soon as I get board with socks, I will move on the scarves, hats, etc, etc. etc.

I'm happy to be part of the Ravelry community, I'm a new member and still trying to find out how it works.

I also am sewing and am almost finish my skirt from my class I've been taking for the past month. I will be posting pics of both when I get the chance. I talked to my sister, who is currently deployed in Iraq. I may be doing knit alongs long distance. I want to deplete my yarn stash and fabric stash. The only thing I don't have is a lot of time. This is where my time management skills come in.

Well, I'm going to dash off, I have to get up early for work and though I have more to write about, I haven't collected my thoughts enough to put in blog form.

Thanks to my followers and be patient with me.
