Fancy Foot Work!

I've just come back from Hillandale Meetup Knit Group and as usual I had a phenomenal and productive time. We meet every Monday and a lot of us come right after work, tired and worn out from the day's events, but somehow we get re energized.

I'm still working on my first sock and I will have a picture of it soon. Again, I like to thank my two friends in Hillandale for the instruction, support, and just plain cheer leading for getting me this far. I am now shaping the toe and will be soon finish. Then I can start the other. I think I can get this done a little quicker. I ready to be finish because I want to start more sock art. Yeah, that sounds like a good name. SOCK ART. Hmmmm!!!

Well, anyhow I'm going to work a little more on my toe shaping before turning in. Thanks to my followers!!!

Turn of the Heal.

I am almost finish my sock. It is taken longer than expected, but it looks good. In my last Meetup group in Hillandale, I got great instruction on turning the heal. As soon as I learn how to pick up the stitiches and finish, I will be cranking socks out right and left. My Meetup group in White Flint will be meeting tomorrow. Everyone get ready I will be making socks and giving them out as gifts in the future. As soon as I get board with socks, I will move on the scarves, hats, etc, etc. etc.

I'm happy to be part of the Ravelry community, I'm a new member and still trying to find out how it works.

I also am sewing and am almost finish my skirt from my class I've been taking for the past month. I will be posting pics of both when I get the chance. I talked to my sister, who is currently deployed in Iraq. I may be doing knit alongs long distance. I want to deplete my yarn stash and fabric stash. The only thing I don't have is a lot of time. This is where my time management skills come in.

Well, I'm going to dash off, I have to get up early for work and though I have more to write about, I haven't collected my thoughts enough to put in blog form.

Thanks to my followers and be patient with me.

I'm Baaaccckkk!!!

It's been a while but a lot of things have been going on with me, hence, I'm going to write little by little to get it all in over a period of blog. The big snow motivated me to review my favorite blogs.

I've started knitting, sewing, and reading. It's been hard, because I've been working too, but for my sanity I have to get activity out side of work or I will go looney tunes.

I'm finding there are plenty of people that are knitters, crocheters, and sewers. Who would have thought? I've gone fanatical with all my hobbys and have to manage my time carefully.

As soon as I can, I going to learn to put my photos and eventually video of my activities. I'm also in the midst of organizing my office and craft room. Those of you who knows me, knows organization is not my strong suite. I have enlisted help of a co-worker and friend who is good at this thing. So I keep you up to date on this.

Anyhow, I will check back with my progress.

Time Flys When You Are Having Fun.

I can't believe it's been since October since I last posted. Thank you for the two comments to encourge me to continue my blog. I'm still trying to figure out how to develop my blog to be what others might be interested in reading. I am going to copy some ideas , but I'm still learning.

I'm a novice computer buff, I know somethings but want to learn other things that I don't know. My favorite things is sewing, knitting, cooking.

I also like to collect. Right now I want to get the Mikasa newest china pattern Cocoa Blossom. This will be my third collection. My first china pattern is Antique Lace by Mikasa, so elegant. My next pattern is Romance by Ambience. There is a couple of pieces ( A ruffled serving bowl and cake serving plate I want)

I also a book collection, mostly cook books, but I collect other books also. I know this sounds weird but I like to collect kitchen gadgets and small appliances. Probably because I like cooking and like the last in my kitchen.

I have a fabric collection, but haven't sewn in a while, but financially, it makes since to get back to sewing. My pattern collection is my biggest collections. I have patterns from the 50's up to the present and am a fashionista, so to speak. I say that because I wear a uniform most days so when I dress I like to dress!!!

I like antiques, I have antique furniture (bedroom furniture and some antique stack tables with leather tops. I also like electric hurricane lamps. I was buying those mostly through EBay.

I do have art work collections. I don't have a particular artist work I like, but like nature scenes, water scenes, mostly things without people. I also have a doll collection. I have a mug collection (Who doesn't?)

After writing this, I realize I have quite a few collections. So I think I'm going to organize these collections and par down these collections so it better shows who I am as a person.

Well until next time, Happy Blogging!!!

In The Beginning!

I've recently started reading blogs and decided to start one myself. I'm not sure what to write, but will play it by ear. Maybe blogging will get my creative writing juices flowing. I bought my present computer back September 8th and completely love it. I'm not sure how long this love affair will last. I didn't think I would like Microsoft Vista O/S, but it seems to be just what I needed. This is my fourth computer, second laptop and I want to make this one last. Knowing me, I'm going to have to get the latest and fastest. I still trying to figure out how this blog thing works and hope I don't get too boring. My favorite blogs keep me interested and gives me a peek in others lives and thoughts. It's like visting friends but not knowing them personally.
